What are Polyurea concrete coatings?
Polyurea, also known as Polyaspartic, is a type of elastomer created with step-growth polymerization of synthetic resin and an isocyanate component. It is often used as an alternative coating to epoxy or resin for concrete or steel. Due to its chemical makeup, polyurea is more resistant to water, heat, and other chemicals than epoxy, making it the superior choice to protect floors.
Does my concrete coating come with a warranty?
Yes, Duvall Coating Solutions is proud to provide a limited lifetime warranty to protect your floors and your investment. The warranty covers any chipping, blistering, or peeling of the coating. Cracks or separation from the concrete substrate or settling are not covered. Learn more about our warranty here.
Can I apply polyurea coatings myself?
Polyurea is the best concrete coating on the market due to its durability and versatility, but only when it’s applied correctly. Our team is expertly trained not only in the polyurea coating process but also in floor preparation to ensure your coating adheres and cures properly. With Duvall Coating Solutions’ chip flake design options available in 24 colors, you’ll enjoy the appearance of your new floors with peace of mind for years to come.
Is it slippery?
Although our floors are slip-resistant with better coefficient of friction properties than standard concrete, they are not slip-proof because no floors are slip-proof. The anti-stain and sealant properties may make the floor slippery when wet. Please use caution during these conditions.
Will our floors stain?
Our floors are stain-resistant and easy to clean. However, they are not stain-proof. The floors should be cleaned regularly per our cleaning guidelines. Materials that may stain the floor should be removed quickly. PRO TIP: Avoid leaving planter boxes or wet mats directly on the floor for long periods of time.
How do concrete coatings perform in Northern Indiana and Chicago’s Midwest climate?
Duvall’s concrete coatings in Northern Indiana and the Chicago area are designed to withstand freeze-thaw cycles, moisture, road salt, and seasonal temperature swings. For outdoor surfaces such as patios, driveways, and walkways, we recommend resealing the topcoat every 3–5 years to maintain gloss, color, and surface integrity, especially after repeated exposure to winter salt, snow, and moisture.
How do I prepare for my Premier Concrete Solutions floor coating?
To prepare for your floor coating by Duvall Coating Solutions’ professional coating specialists, follow these steps to ensure the best possible outcome. Mainly, you’ll need to clear away the items on your floor before our team arrives. This includes any vehicles, stored possessions, and shelving. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to a member of our team prior to your appointment.
How Much Does It Cost to Coat a Garage Floor in Northern Indiana or Chicago?
The cost of a professional garage floor coating in Northern Indiana and the Chicago suburbs varies based on:
- Garage size. An average 2-car garage costs between $2,900 and $3,400.
- Concrete condition. Repairs and additional preparation may add to the cost.

Are Chip-Flake Concrete Floors in Northern Indiana Worth the Investment?
